Just Call me The Conspiracy Theorist.....

So- you've all wondered what my political beliefs are... especially since my Dad's passed, and I have to live my own life now.

Well- it's pretty simple.  I am for gay rights. 100%, but that's probably because I am... well- let's just say not like everyone else.  But I believe in my heart that God gave us all free agency.  The right to decide what we truly believe in and how we feel.  Well- if a woman falls in love with another woman, or a man with a man- how is that a sin or bad?  It's not, in my book.  I believe that God is a loving and just God, and if people choose to fall in love with someone of the same sex- he doesn't hate them!  No way.  It's just the way things are... people can't help who they fall in love with- gay, bi or straight.  It just happens. So damn it, let them be themselves!

I am LDS.  I admit that, and I admit it freely. BUT, I also have some majorly huge faults with religion.  Since the dawn of time, it has caused numerous unnecessary deaths.  Christ's apostles after his crucifixion, being murdered ruthlessly.  The Crusades.  The Latter-Day-Saints on the Oregon trail/Saints trek. The murder of Joseph Smith.  The Mountain Meadows Massacre.  Honor Killings within Islam.  Our damn current war!!

It's pretty damn crazy! I am not going to lie.  I mean, really?  Religion is always (usually) the precursor for a war-the little match that sets things aflame.  Think about it!  The Holocaust and World War II- the mass extermination of millions of innocent Jewish people by an Ayrian race with a crazy-ass psycho leader.  [Master of Puppets much??]
The Iraq/Operation Spring War.... the fight between Islam and Christianity (Here again I refer back to the Crusades).  It's ridiculous.  I'm not saying that I don't believe in God.... but most religions have got some serious issues that need to be dealt with somehow or another.

I am not a hard-core Conservative, in any sense of mind.  I disagree with the war in Afghanistan.  Yes, the soldiers are fighting for a good reason- but there are soooo many deaths, and men sent home in caskets instead of in cars, waving hello to family and loved ones.  Terrorism is always going to exist-- why fight something that you cannot completely halt?  I can see it becoming a thing like Vietnam, when we withdraw completely.  It's all pretty intense stuff.
I don't consider myself super-uber Liberal though, either.  I'm against abortion... always will be.  I'm not a hippie that will scream profanities and hatred against our country, despite the mistakes that we've made.  All countries make mistakes at some point or another.
To put it in a nutshell, I am an Inde-Con-eral.  (A mix of independent, Conservative, and Liberal). :)

Ahhh I can go on, and on and on for hours.  But for now, I'm signing off with a smile, and wave goodbye.  Have a great evening, everyone. :)

xoxo,

~Wendy Renee Berry
